Sodium Alginate
l Molecular formula: C6H7NaO6
l PH: 1% aqueous solution pH value of 6-8. Viscosity in the pH value of 6-9 when the stability and heated to 80 lower than the viscosity. The products are hygroscopic. Water together very strong hydrophilic polymer.
l Usage: Is a high viscosity of the polymer. It with starch, cellulose, etc. The difference is that it has a carboxyl group, is β-D-mannuronic acid glycoside bond formation of aldehyde to the high polysaccharide aldehyde acid. The nature of its functions are as follows: (1) hydrophilic strong, cold water and warm water can be dissolved to form a uniform solution is very viscous. (2) to form the true solution with the other analogues difficult to obtain the softness.
